Book Review Project

Book review of
"Toys to Tools: Connecting Student Cell Phones to Education"
by Liz Kolb

Assignment: Successful school librarians keep pace with educational trends, doing ongoing professional reading and acquiring professional materials for their collections. Select a professional book on an aspect of K-12 education with which you do not have much prior knowledge (not school libraries). Using a Web 2.0 tool of your choice, summarize the key points of the book, then propose how a school librarian could connect his/her practice beyond collection development to help meet the goals outlined in the book. Because developing a succinct message is a useful skill for school librarians, presentation length is limited to 5 minutes.

  1. Dude, I cannot believe this! You did it on your PHONE?!? I never would've imagined that would even be possible. Perfect--once people pick themselves up off the floor, they'll go running to buy phones for the classroom. :)

  2. Your presentation was terrific! Very clever use of technology to teach about technology.
